Web Chat Service User Policy
The service is for users based in, or who have experienced a crime in, the Republic of Ireland only.
If you are under 18 then please let us know so we can make an appropriate referral to services which deal specifically with minors.
Respectful Use
To ensure a safe and supportive environment, service users should not:
• Share or link to offensive, abusive, or sexually explicit content.
• Promote or advertise products, services, or other organisations.
• Impersonate another person or use false information.
If these terms are breached, CVH may end the chat session and, in serious cases, restrict future access to the service. Users are also subject to CVH’s Abusive Service User Policy.
Safeguarding and Confidentiality
CVH operates under the Children First National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children (2017). If we become aware of information suggesting that a child (someone under the age of 18) may be at risk, we will share relevant information with the appropriate statutory authority.
All information shared through the chat is treated confidentially and in accordance with CVH’s Privacy and Data Protection Policy.
Once a chat window is closed, users cannot access or retrieve a copy of the conversation.
If you wish to retain any information provided, please copy, screenshot, or save it before the chat ends.
Respect and Safety
CVH is committed to maintaining a respectful and supportive environment for everyone who uses our services. Abuse, harassment, or discrimination of any kind towards staff or volunteers will not be tolerated.
